Making your own Roman blinds gives you the opportunity to decorate windows with materials that go well with your interior design. Custom blinds can be made to fit inside the frame or on top of it, depending on the fabric of your choice.

12 Steps for Making Roman Blinds From Curtains

Making Roman curtains by yourself is simple, but it is also a waste of time and energy. You don’t need to do this. Buy from us. You only need a small amount of money to get better quality.

step1

1. Iron your fabric well

A well-pressed piece of fabric greatly simplifies a stitching task!

step2

2. Measure the width and height

The inside width and height of the window where the shade will hang should be measured.

step3

3. Cut fabric

Cut your fabric, adding 4" to the length and 1/2" to each side.

step4

4. Dimensions for the tube tape

Using pins, mark the dimensions for the tube tape (see below) on your lining.

step5

5. Tube tape

Remember that tube tape is an excellent product with pockets along the bottom (see below) where a dowel can be inserted and tiny loops around the top for passing nylon cord through (see above).

step6

6. Pin down the tube tape

Beginning at the bottom, pin the tape to the right side of the lining.

step7

7. Press your tape onto the lining

if you would like, you can use contrasting colored thread for demonstration purposes in this technique, but it's not necessary. Just be careful to bast along the top of the tape, not over the small loops.

step8

8. Sew the lining onto the material

Pinch the right sides together, then use a 1/2" seam to sew the sides and bottom together, leaving the top open.

step9

9. Smooth the shade's edges to a smooth surface

step10

10. Make sure knot doesn't come untied

Try sewing your knot together with a standard needle and thread to ensure it stays knotted in the future (because nylon cord can be slick).

step11

11. Place the dowels into the small openings at the tube tape's bottom

step12

12. Lift your blind and tuck in the folds

Roman blinds compared to traditional curtains, this is quite easy when it comes to covering and uncovering your windows. Installation of Roman Blinds is not too hard.
